Construction is part of John’s DNA. Over 40 years ago, John took his first job working in a lumberyard. A few years later, John transitioned to work in the masonry construction field where he quickly progressed from laborer, to mechanic, to foreman. Before the age of 18, John owned a construction company that was responsible for all aspects of infrastructure for White Castle restaurants throughout Long Island, New York. That was just the beginning for John.      John remained fully engaged in the construction business as he put himself through school, beginning with night classes. Transitioning to a full-time student, John developed an intense interest in law enforcement, which he came to see as requiring the same skills as construction had demanded of him: uncompromising commitment to excellence, unfailing attention to detail, unassailable ethics, and peak physical conditioning.      John entered the New York City Policy Academy. Over the next 18 years, John would fully engage in his work as a law enforcement officer. Working in the patrol and narcotics units, John quickly achieved leadership positions by establishing a mountain bike unit, teaching police defensive tactics to state and federal law enforcement, collaborating with the FBI and U.S. Secret Service, earning his certification to teach at the Police Academy, and studying martial arts with members of the International Aikido Federation in Tokyo. Alongside his distinguished career in law enforcement, John continued to build houses throughout the New York region.      In 2003, John became the owner and manager of a 6800-acre development project in Hawaii. John developed the Master Plan for the development and was responsible for all aspects of planning and permitting. Subsequently, John became President of Development and Construction for Diamante, located in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. There, John was responsible for managing all aspects of vertical construction and infrastructure: 100 villas ranging from 6000-15,000 square feet, 22 casitas ranging from 2400-4000 square feet, four high-rise buildings with approximately 120 hotel suites, three restaurants, a beach club, a gold pro shop, and a golf simulator building. To ensure that Diamanté's construction met his high standards, John—as if writing a script for the popular television show “Undercover Boss”—took a position as construction team lead without disclosing his ownership status to fellow laborers. This creative approach illustrates how John applies his “Excellence Only” philosophy to developing and constructing a world-class resort.    John remained as Diamante President of Development and Construction until 2017. Yet John’s intimate familiarity with design and building tells only part of the story potential investors will want to hear. John’s extensive knowledge of corruption and fraud in the land development and construction industries led to his vital assistance to federal law enforcement in bringing to justice individuals who sought to exploit investors. As a result of John’s efforts, Goldman Sachs has used John as a subject-matter expert speaker.      In 2017 John brought his expertise and integrity to Wohali. John’s involvement ensures that the quality of Wohali’s construction will be second to none, and that Wohali’s ethics will meet and exceed the highest in the industry.      John and his wife, Elizabeth, have four beautiful children.
